Do I need a residence permit to register as an IE in Georgia?

Usually no: registering as an individual entrepreneur and getting a residence permit are separate procedures. But the document set depends on your stay status, so I work it out case by case.

Will I get the 1% tax straight away?

Small business status (1% tax) is granted separately and not for every type of activity. In the consultation I explain whether it fits you, and what has to be done about it at registration.

Can I do the IE and the residence permit together?

Yes, that is what the Business / Residence permit package is for — registration, tax, bank and the permit application as one process.
